Ron Franks, Historic Irondale’s much loved mailman passed away on January 28th. Ron was well known by the residents of Irondale’s north and south sides for his irrepressible personality and tireless work for the U.S. Postal Service.   We offer our deepest condolences  to Ron’s family and friends.  Services will be at 2:30pm on Sunday, February 2nd at Agape on Highway 79 in Pinson.

Ronald Howard Franks, 61 of Pinson. Passed away suddenly on January 28, 2014. Born September 12, 1952 in Nagoya Japan. He served in the Vietnam war. He was employed by the U.S. Postal service for 26 years. He was married to Sherry Brownlee for 35 years. He was a loving father to two beautiful children, Sara 25 and Aaron 28. Also a daughter in law Shannon 25.He was also a caring and devoted grandfather to two amazing grandchildren, Colton 4 and Jeffery 5. One of the most amazing brother to Linda 60, Mike 59, and Robin 48. Services will be at 2:30pm at Agape on hwy 79 Pinson Alabama 35126. Feb 2, 2014.

    Ron was my mailman for the better part of twenty years. He was a great guy and is sorely missed. My sincere condolences to his family.
